AMD FX 8350 Vishera CPU production in Q3. Anyone no the clock speeds of these new chips? Will it be worth updating from the FX 8150?

Not much info on them yet i think, can't really gauge with the trinity release either. Might be worth it power saving alone though.

Well, just look at things logically...Based on what we already know:

(1) Trinity's Piledriver cores offers the performance of the 1st gen FX series without needing L3 cache. Vishera is a newer revision of the Piledriver core with L3 cache...It will obviously be faster. (By at least 5% due to L3 cache? )

(2) Vishera is going to be the last processor line for Socket AM3+. It'll be carried well into 2013, according to AMD's long term roadmap. This is because its being used as a "product delayer" in order to buy AMD engineers time so they can focus their resources on the 3rd generation FX-series based on the Steamroller core. This comes out in 2014, and it will be in a new processor socket format with a new chipset. (You'll need to replace mobo anyway!)

...Because the 2nd generation is going to be dragged out until at least to the end of 2013 or to early 2014; there is really no rush. AMD will keep offering incremental speed bumps every 3 to 6 months ("refresh") until 3rd generation FX is ready. My suggestion is to not bother with the initial release models of Vishera. Update your system in later half of 2013 instead. Stretch out the life of your Socket AM3+ platform.

Too little too late for me, I'm getting a 2500K and mobo in a fortnight
