Default Are SSD's meant to be tiny?

I just got my first one in the mail. Crucial M4 128G.

http://www.pccasegear.com/index.php?...ducts_id=17685

Are these things meant to be tiny? Did I buy the right thing? This will be used in my new full tower PC but it looks like it's fit to be in a notebook...

They are 2.5" drives not 3.5". Just need to buy a 2.5" - 3.5" bracket if it didn't come with one (my Crucial M4 didnt come with one I don't think) to fit it in your case.

Thanks mate. It just gave me a shock seeing how tiny it was.

So it's not a notebook HDD, these little 2.5' drives can operate a full tower with Windows 7 64bit ? amazing....

any sata drive can be attached to a desktop PC. It was actually one of the best things about the sata connector the standardisation between laptops and desktops.

You should see SAS drives atm they are all 2.5" as well.

I have my SSD sitting on the box it came in on the top of my HDD cage, could not be bothered buying a 2.5 > 3.5 adaptor.

it can be a notebook hard drive also. that is the beauty of SSD. it can fit on either a desktop or a notebook/laptop.

ARAM adapter is $6.50. However I had trouble getting this into my main box and had to put it in my second. I can't remember specifically what the trouble was, I'd have to have a look.

thats another beauty about SSD. you do not have to worry about it moving about a little unlike normal HDD. heck even if the machine was running you can move your machine about and the SSD will not even care really. it will just chug along.
