Default Sandy bridge i3 vs i5 vs i7 ultrabook graphics?

Hey all,

Just wondering if there is a difference in graphics performance between the i3, i5 and i7 sandy bridge processors found in ultrabooks? I know they all 3 of them feature intel hd 3000 @ 350mhz, but according to the intel website i3 has 1GHz max dynamic frequency, i5 has 1.15GHz and i7 has 1.2GHz, but what real difference does this make? Would i notice much of an fps increase?

Thanks

Older gen are HD3000, new gen are HD4000. I swapped my UX31E Zenbook for a new Samsung Series 9, so went from a HD3000 to HD4000. There's a fair difference in FPS in Diablo 3, but it's still not playable.

No, the HD3000 is a piece of crap for games. the differnece between the 3 cores is the amount of cache and cpu speed. whether that afffects the game you want is all guesswork

No it's not, I get 80-100FPS in League of Legends and 60-80FPS in Call of Duty 4. It doesn't compare to a dedicated card but it's far from a piece of crap.

@OP

I'm pretty sure I remember seeing a slight fps difference between the different cpus. Maybe 5-10% difference in a comparison I saw a while back, can't remember exactly where I saw it though. Have a google and you might find something.

Cheers mate. Yeah it probably better for me to get a newer ivy bridge ultrabook with HD 4000
