Default BigPond Usage Meter not working...

Just a question regarding if anyone's BigPond Usage Meter is actually working?

Currently reporting 0MB used but I'm halfway through my month and last time I checked (or was able to) I was @ 60-65%

BigPond must have updated their website to be.. more useless as they only get worse (sounds a lot like EA/Dice and their patches they roll out...)

They do this approx 3-6 months and the usage meter becomes fully useless for an entire month.

I have found that when they stop working, you need to update to a newer version.

Also remember, they only support hourly updates, more frequent probing may result in blocked data.

Not quite sure what you mean by 'newer version' but I just updated my Adobe Flash to the latest and still nothing. Firefox is 13.0.1

I took this a reference to a actual meter (app or gadget), not a website based reading.

it only works on services that have not been migrated to the new billing platform due to legacy bundles or products. the URLs for the data are quite different on the two platforms. I have spoken with the author of that tool on and off but so far no fix.

the only convenient workaround I have is to use Net Usage Item in Chrome.

that said, I have no idea how Bigpond arrive at their usage calculations, although I understand the mechanics of the metering system. my meter shows several gig of unmetered usage for the month so far, and there is no way on earth I've racked that up reading Bigpond news on my phone connected to wifi.

I agree, we have unexplained usages left, right and centre for our two work accounts.

I've only used it briefly, and it really is a horror of a thing.

Usage meter has been fine for me over the past few days. I use a third party app.

log into your account via the webportal and go to your usage page.

if the URL looks like
Code:
https://myaccount.bigpond.com/MyServicesViewUsage.do?product_id=1-xxxxxxxx&usageview=daily
the the Unique Windows gadget will NOT work.

if it looks like
Code:
https://my.bigpond.com/mybigpond/myaccount/myusage/daily/default.do
then it should work, try reinstalling it.

I'm still using Usage Agent and it still works well.
