Thumbs up GIGABYTE looking for feedback to improve EasyTune 6, let us know what you think!

Hi guys,

Hello to all the PC DIY entusiasts at OCAU. I want to ask you guys to help GIGABYTE with feedback on what you would like you like to change with the EasyTune software that motherboards are shipped with. Any suggestions are good suggestions whether it's a facelift, functionality, change nothing or anything else you have in mind. GIGABYTE want to make it better and give end users what they want!

I will pass the feedback direct into R&D at GIGABYTE HQ, thanks in advance

For those unfamiliar with the current software here is a snapshot i got off a UK forum from stulid's awesome forum review

ET6 has always performed very well, how about incorporating the full functionality of cpu tweaker for mem, gamers would like a inbuilt cpu stress tester, the gui could do with a freshen up, but as long as it remains strong I don't care what it looks like.

If you really wanted to stand apart from the crowd, how about a gigabyte version of DFI's auto boost/tune system, allowing people to download full bios settings, being able to swap setting's by email is a blast

Databases full of clocksettings for different spec cooling and cpu's

A very noob friendly system should sell more boards

These would be great features (though the OC purists out there would disagree, no doubt)

Hi guys

Some good ideas so far.

Snappy, you can do that already if you are on the same bios actually, bios can be saved on a USB stick and sent to someone but i like the expanded idea too

starkers, you may have had an old version that didnt support your CPU, try downloading the latest version for your board. Check out the screenshots, you can see there is multi adjustment there.

Some of the changes we will be doing is combining that multi change with some of the other settings into one tab, there will be more tabs, AutoOC will have its own section. Key in values are proposed also as well as multi tab to be displayed, memory section expanded and a bunch of other things.

Only just bought a Gigabyte G1.Sniper M3 with an Intel I7 3770K and haven't had a chance to look at the software yet.

Although I still prefer to manually change the settings in the bios to attain a raw oc as it is much quicker than a full boot, I quite like the easytune software for a quick snapshot of system settings and for very minor tweaks in between stress testing. It has a straightforward and feature filled layout, just the way I like it.

That being said, I find OC Guru 1 and 2 to be plain infuriating. OC Guru 1 does not have the straight forward layout, features and fine tweaking ability of afterburner. In fact, the only feature where afterburner does not completely dominate is the power saving abilities of OC Guru. OC Guru 2? I installed it, uninstalled straight away. Completely useless.

The part that doesn't make sense though, is that compared to the features and polish of easytune, OC Guru is an embarrassing example of a company falling well short of a capable benchmark.

Why is that, Dinos? Are they going to fix this or continue to let competitors make better software for their products?

Hey there. I had to swap a motherboard from Asus (P8z77m pro) to a gigabyte model (forget the model name, something d3h), and although I havn't really been into the features yet I noticed one feature absent - on the fan controller, you're able to set multiple points on the graph on the asus, and only 2 on the gigabyte software. I don't know if this can be expanded, but definitely is one of the factors that I would look for in a motherboard. I love the black theme on the IO plate too - looking great.

I know this isn't really 100% related to the software at hand, but hey, it's feedback, right?

I want to be able to export my current BIOS settings (i.e. CMOS settings) to a text file (plain text, csv, just something text)!

Remove all the stupid skinning and flashy icons so it looks like a real utility and not a stupid gimmick. You can still make the functionality easy to use without all that.

I agree, also I found there are a few bugs with settings being reset after a restart on my 990FXA-UD3 and my roomate's 990FXA-UD5.

Is there even a remote chance that an "export to text file" option (for current setting) would be added? Or is there already a util that can do that?
