Wordpress framework

Currently im using WP Framework for my wordpress theme. Its pretty hacked up and i feel the need to start fresh and redo the whole thing. What framework should I be looking at using? Anyone have any preferences?

I didnt build the current theme so suggesting "Use WP Framework again since you already know how it works" wont be necessary (i have modified it a fair bit though).

Thematic, hands down.

I have personally bought "Thesis" and it seems like a top-of-the-line framework for wordpress, focusing on what matters to me (design and readability / usability).

I'm yet to really get into it but seeing as my career will more or likely be web development / wordpress dev / app dev i will be getting grips with it pretty soon, its pretty basic wordpress hooks / loops. Some easy tutorials online about it. Hopefully that isn't too advanced.

Ill have a look at Thematic. Dont really want to pay for a theme (i was originally going to build from scratch, but this is easier lol)

Just make your own.

If you know a bit of HTML, CSS and PHP it really isn't that hard and you get exactly what you want.

There is pretty comprehensive documentation on the wordpress.org site on how to do it. You can also grab a lot of 'parts' from the community to integrate into your theme so you don't have to do everything from scratch if you don't want to.
