Hey guys,
Just inherited some audio gear from my uncle, No idea what its worth or how/would it be worthwhile to setup and what it would need. Items are as follows: Sound Research DJ-1600B Turn Table Yamaha YST-SW60 Subwoofer : http://www.radiomuseum.org/r/yamaha_...ive_ser_6.html 1x PolkAudio MM5234? No idea what the last number is as its rubbed, but it is a center channel speaker 2x Polk Monitor bookshelves, no serials or model numbers. Ive font some googlefu and i cant find much, they were bought in the 90's though

Old hifi gear is great. Get an amp and play some records. Speakers would make good pc speakers too.

Hmm i already have decent computer speakers,
Is the gear actually worth anything to sell? Dont see myself spending the money personally to get an amp and wire it up

You could ask on http://www.stereo.net.au/ forum for a rough estimate at an appropriate price to ask on ebay or list them on the classifieds there. |

What are they? They might not seem so decent after listening to some good hifi gear.
Otherwise a cheap amp powering the bookshelves might suit in a shed or work area.

you might just find that those polk audio speakers may be better then the swans.
Hard to tell with no model numbers but polk is pretty decent gear. |
