Default Quad Channel Work on Dual Channel MoBo??

Hi guys, i have a Z77 mobo and it supports Dual Channel memory, not quad channel.

However i have a friend selling a nice quad channel kit and wondered if i bought it would it work?

Obviously it would only run at dual channel speed but it wouldn't affect the speed or usability at all would it?

Any help appreciated.

RAM is RAM.

dont worry about the gimmick of "kits". If they really do test them how do we get dead sticks in kits.

If its cheap go for it.
