Along with a weather station, I want to put a web camera outside and display the output on my website. No particular reason other than I have a nice view and want to make people jealous.
![]() I'm not that well versed on web cameras and their options, all I know is I want a reasonable quality HD or megapixel resolution with an Ethernet connection. I'll eventually set it up on a pan/tilt platform. Fixed focus for landscape shots (but a zoom option might be nice) I'm looking for suggestions as to something suitable (and affordable, did I mention it should be cheap? )Here's one I've been looking at.

I recently purchased a Pentax Optio WG-2(reviews) for about $400 and i am very happy with it and the photos it takes, including underwater shots. It lacks full manual control but i find it shoots well in auto and has good scene selection modes. It has a F2.0 lens which helps it in low light shooting. The camera is waterproof to 12m, shockproof, crush proof to 100kg, dustproof ect ect. I have a Nikon D7000 for shooting on land but when im out drinking/partying, at the beach, diving or anywhere where that doesnt allow the bulky dslr the olympus is in my pocket. Plenty of reviews and sample images out there.
