I'm sick of my POS iPhone 3GS so it's time to get a new phone.
I want to switch to Android and I'm not sure on what to get. I'm currently on a Telstra $49/month BYO plan (out of contract), I will be staying with Telstra but I don't actually use my phone too much so I'm open to either getting a new contract with Telstra which includes a phone, or just buying a phone outright and switching to Telstra prepaid. The phones that Telstra offer on contract that I would be interested in are the HTC Velocity 4G, Galaxy SII, HTC One XL, HTC Titan 4G and the Galaxy SIII. It looks like it will probably be cheaper to go with pre-paid though. I am considering an SIII for $559, but I wouldn't mind spending a bit less than that. I saw the Galaxy Nexus for $379 which looks quite good, or an SII for $419. Are there any other phones that I should be looking at? Needs to run Android, must have a GPS, bluetooth, high quality and big-ish screen. 4G not required, ability to act as a USB device would be nice, as would expandable storage. I really don't use my phone for too much these days, I don't play many games etc, just mainly use it for browsing the net/listening to music. Will a mid-range phone suit me fine, or should I just get an SIII and be done with it? |

This.
(The Nexus is a bargain at the moment but doesn't have ability to add SD card.) |

The Nexus is good value and feels nice in the hand.

Thanks, I'm still looking at reviews and trying to decide. It's probably between the S3 and the Nexus. |

+1 to the S3. Hands down, the best phone I have ever used. Excellent call clarity, ginormous screen, microsd expansion, and it's lightning fast to boot.
