An 1100D is half the price, has a viewfinder and flash, doesn't require an adapter to use current EOS lenses, has much faster AF, greater physical control via buttons and dials and is only 150g heavier than the EOS-M.

I really don't get the attraction of this thing when it compares so poorly to even the worst DSLR on the market.

Pinch to zoom looks great.

Wish the OM-D had that!

1100D isn't much larger either. This is also hideously ugly! Saw a youtube video, really cheap plasticy feel to it. Not good considering the competitors NEX, XPro/100 and OM-D.

none of those cameras are competitors for this, they are all at least $500 more expensive.

I highly doubt that it will stay at RRP once released...

Besides according to this review: http://www.photoreview.com.au/review...y-alpha-nex-5n the NEX5 was AU$949 at launch

There's plenty on non-confusing canon versioning options from here:
M-classic
M-II
M-III
M-X

Eagerly awaiting an aussie price for this.
Was going to get a 600D but this looks like a great option for my GF as she is just wanting to start getting into photography. Would also be a great small camera to take to Canada at the end of the year for our trip :P
