Default New to Water cooling, I'm excited!!!

First I'd like to say HI to everyone, I'm new to the forum.

Been in the computer game since '91 (ouch 21 years) and I'm looking at my very first water cooled system. So I got me a Obsidian 800DW and transferred my 2700k system across (full specs soon). So now the water cooling journey can begin.

Looking at a Swiftech Apogee HD block and Trippe rad system, jury is still out on the graphics as I may update my gigabyte 6870 OC (no full blocks that I can find).

Wish me luck and feel free to post as much advice as us like, as I said I'm new to this water stuff.

draw out and plan the loop. determine the fitings and angle fittings required and you'll save on postage. i had my fittings in three seperate orders because i got lazy.

What hazwan said. Plan out your build carefully. Paper, pen, photoshop, whatever works for you. Care to list in detail what parts you have your eyes on so we can put together something for you.

Measure twice, cut once. All about the planning and details.

after doing my system i do with some things were barbs would have made my life so much easier.

comps are good for more secure mounting but the fact they are much fatter just doesn't allow it to be used in a lot of places unless you go for the 3/8 instead of 1/2

love too see the passion from everyone, and all with different opinions... a lot of food for thought. at the moment I'm looking at red compression fittings and red UV distilled water through a clear tube. CPU waterblock will be a Swiftech Apogee HD. still looking into fan controllers and also looking for a good water block for the 6870OC, though I am looking at putting in 2x gtx 680's...

current idea, ideas welcome

Tripple RAD -> CPU -> single RAD -> GPU -> GPU -> Reservoir -> Pump.

As quoted oft around here, Loop order doesnt matter aslong as the res feeds into the pump, just whatever is neatest/ looks the best as the temperature stabilises throughout the whole loop.

Also a big for UV dyes, just use colored tubing
