Default EVGA Supernova 1500w PSU!

Looks pretty good, http://www.evga.com/forums/tm.aspx?m=1677705

From what I've gathered:

1. It has a HANDLE!
2. Fully modular
3. quality individually sleeved wires (with no heatshrink visible!)
4. Has usb interface for real time desktop monitoring of voltages, current draw, temperature, fan speed, efficiency.
5. Has software fan controller.
6. Switchable single/multi rail
7. 10 year warranty

I think the built in fan controller software is a super cool idea if it works. I also think this might be setting a precedent to having individually sleeved cables stock instead of optional.

are they smart enough to have made it have enough 6pin connectors to power the SR2/X and have enough to power 4 cards properly?
you know, so like 20 PCIe 6+2pin connectors?

and then, i wonder which company is the actual manufacturer.

The important question is: who actually makes it?

124 Amp +12v rail is nice, especially if its one simple rail and none of this annoying multi-rail fluffing around.

Compare to
Enermax Platimax 1500W: 6x12 = 125A
Enermax MaxRevo 1500W: 6x12 = 125A
Seasonic X-1250: 1x12 = 104A
Corsair AX1200: 1x12 = 100A
Silverstone Strider 1500W 8(WTF?)x12 = 110A
Thermaltake ToughPower 1500W: 4x12 = 110A (wait, what? ROFL )

where are the voltage specs of this thing?
I wouldn't mind knowing how many A's on the 5V line!

Just what was it you read that said that? Normally, if anything, it'd be the opposite, with the US not being able to run full load in some cases (10A fuses in houses and the US using 110V mains compared to our 240V). Not to mention that the higher voltage here also improves efficiency.

Either way, it will get sold here (confirmed)

I'm not electrician but I'm going off what this guy said. BTW 2nd or 3rd page on the forum.

Quote:
I'm in Australia, so the 230VAC requirements will apply. I'm also an electrician, and know that our power outlets are only rated for 10A @ 230VAC, which would indicate that, technically, we can't run the power supply at full load.

That guy in that thread is an idiot, the next page over he is proven wrong.

You can run this PSU fine on a standard wall plug (10A) at 240v. Its the yanks that have issues at 110v.

Well he's half right. Because he said technically we won't be able to run it at 'Full Load' with the 1650 OC mode. Also EVGA guy confirmed that it was recommended to have a 12A+ Circuit. But thankyou for clearing some things up for me.
