Default 40 days of annual leave what to do?

So I have accrued 40 days of annual leave and don't know what to do with it.
Need some ideas, anything?

Some details:
- I need to do something, not just stay at home
- I travel for work A LOT, and have plenty of points to go first class anywhere in the world including hotels etc.
- I rather not want to travel by myself... but I guess I will have to
- My gf does not have any leave to go on holidays with me
- I have been to the following countries USA, Canada, Mexico, Guatemala, China, Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Cambodia, Vietnam, Mongolia, North Korea, South Korea, Japan, Taiwan, England, Italy, France, Germany, Netherlands, Switzerland, South Africa, New Zealand.

Ideas?

Jump in your car and spend 40 days exploring Australia. Or buy/rent a sweet campervan.

Eat as many meat pies as you can

Now is the perfect time to explore up north/west, dry season, everything is open and not too hot.

leave it there, when you eventually leave your job it's a nice big chunk of change to take with you.

Unless you really really need a break.

Have you "been" to these countries simply for work, or for pleasure as well?

How many days you can transfer to the next year in Australia?

All unused leave rolls over perpetually. A company I used to work for got screwed over recently when an employee with ~3-4 months of unused annual leave resigned and they had to pay it out in a lump sum.

I've got 60 days at the moment and I just used 8 days! I am looking forward to the payout when I leave but it will be taxed. It'll be a nice top up to the redundancy.

Most companies would try and force you to take leave as it's a big debt on their books.

And to the OP...what are your interests? I recently went to Bali and loved it! I stayed outside of the busy tourist spots and it was very relaxing. We spent plenty of time snorkeling, swimming, etc. I also vote for seeing more of Australia. I plan to go on a road trip once my current role finishes up. A couple of years ago I did a few weeks driving around Tasmania which was pretty nice.

As opposed to paying them for 3-4 months and them not coming in because they are on holiday?
It still costs them the same money in the end..

And this is even more a reason to do it. Depending on what you like the east coast is really nice this time of year aswell, ie Start at Bundagerg and work your way north sticking to the coastline. Up to Townsville, Cairns, and if you enjoy 4wding and camping, go all the way to The Cape. An experience you will never forget.

They increase in value when you get a pay rise. So 20 days you saved last year were worth your $50k salary, you get a pay rise the next year to $60k. Your saved annual leave days are now worth your $60k salary if you were to be paid out so is costing the company more.

ITT: People that don't understand cashflow.

Imagine you had to pay your rent for the life of the contract up front instead of having it spread out through the year.

and you are forgetting about pay rises and liability.

when you take your leave you get it paid at your current wage... not the one in which you accrued it in four years ago...

oh yeah and some business like to reduce their liability by making people take their leave instead of claiming 6 months at once so their cashflow statement improves...

tell me you don't study business

ANYWAY.... What about Safari in Namibia... or some beachside place no one has been... like... Palau?

Other than that i would go camping by a river for a week or two. Sipping beers and catching fish.
