hi, monitors good, just be dealing with a faulty 295 that i baught from here(i just returned it ( side B fails phyx test), wait for refund....

ok dell ips monitor takes a 20 sec-1 min to warm up(full brightness), unlike my samsung thatn? 27" 120hz thats up in 3 sec..

if you run the keyboard software (built in or aftermarker) it works with bf3

when i press a key on either, it works in game and shows what keys being press on virtual keyboard n screen... and if i press teamspeak on dell while, playing bf3 it alt tabs to dell focus.

ill post a temp pic,, iv just placed monitor on right side of 27" leaning on wall

(big mess at the moment as im going to start my case mod- pc in temp case).

but my Olympic 2000... desk not wide enough to fit it as i planned

ill have to bring desk forward from wall (say 10 cm)+ maybe get a piece of wood to extend back of desk, so i can push the 27" further back
but 10 cm.

so basically dell on a angle that i want need 10cm more desk space.

i really need a bigger (wider) desk.

ill figger out a plan to extend my desk temp(buy a piece of wood), and retry it..(ill post a pictures when i do)..ill buy some wood at bunnings this week.

iv never done a video, only pics...

Was looking @one of these - put the money towards a 690 instead
Looks a nice addition once you sort out the cabling and space..

wanted the 3 years warranty and dells satisfaction 14day garrenty (in case i hated it, fail to work etc..

i was also concerned that someone rejected the monitor maybe due a defective pixil that they can on use the 14 day thing to get money back, as they dont have a zero defective pixil policy(unlike samsung)

bu my monitor was perfect, and touch as extended screen works..my only real complaint is you cant get your fingers in the corners due to big depth of belize.

hard to calibrate cause you cant get your fingers in corner...

got some family matters happening, so iv been delayed in my projects-case mod+ desk mod to extend depth..wait a week or 2

I've been thinking of doing this for some time now but I wasn't aware of this specific product.

A couple of questions for you, issa;

1. I'm under the impression that this is a pressure sensitive touch screen? ie, non capacitive? How much pressure must you apply (if any) for your touch on the screen to be registered?

2. Are you able to view and control the desktop on the secondary display (dell touch) while running full screen applications/games on your main screen? I had a secondary monitor a while ago but each time I started a game, the secondary monitor just went black... Perhaps there's an option in windows or something... I dunno

One thing that could eliminate your space problem is a monitor stand. This is what I use. This would allow you to customize exactly where you want your main monitor and allow you to have your setup as illustrated in your op..

I also found a pretty good review on the monitor here http://www.tftcentral.co.uk/reviews/dell_st2220t.htm

both my samsung + del are non vesa mount (ie no hole options) but i saw a youtube that someone did found a way to mount the dell.

1. not sure. very little, it works on light touch (no press req).

2. i have a 2nd screen (running as extended+ touch is for dell extended(under tablet pc settings)

if i run the keyboard virt software (built in win 7) or Hot Virtual Keyboard on that screen (+ teamspeak+ info programs) while playing.

it works, ie im playing bf3, if i press virt keyboard it works as if i pressing real keyboard while playing bf3, but if i press anyware else, it alt-tabs out of game to that area(mouse mov point) or to application selected (ie teamspeak)

when i press my g19 keys - it shows the keys pressed

there is a small delay at what speed you can type on virt keyboard (not sure if you can adjust it (ie how fast can you type on screen?)

iv just put it sideways to the right of my screen/desk on a small Coffey table leaning on the wall on a angle at the moment, till i make room on my desk

Thanks for the response mate. Sucks about the alt tabbing back to desktop when you try to control another app on the touch screen. Kinda defeats the purpose of using a touch monitor as a secondary display.

I hope there's a way to eliminate it. I might do some research ot start a seperate thread to see if the issue can be overcome. I wanted to control other apps whilst still playing, if I wanted to switch to the app completely id do it manually and not bother with the touch screen

that only happens when your playing a game (but it does alter focus on the program that you touch(just like a mouse)

but the virtual keyboard works when you playing a game( it does not lose focus on game or program being used)

To be honest I couldn't care less about the keyboard feature.

As I mentioned in me last post, I want it so I can control apps in the background whilst playing a fullscreen game.

I find the keyboard function rather pointless to be frank
