Default continuous short beeps

hi guys so after a few days of there being strange GFX issues, ( driver not found, cards not detected, bsod's etc) my sons pc no longer posts.

q9550
p45t extreme
gskill pi ram 2 x 2gb ( all four slots tested with 1,2 stick configs )
1tb hdd ( left in and unplugged )
2 x 9800gtx in sli ( 1,2, sli, non sli, all slots worked through )
silverstone psu 850w ( tested on other pc )

when powered up without ram the "no ram" beeps occur
when powered up with ram in continuous short beeps (also with the different configs mentioned above )

other things to note:-
led codes shown before restarts or during beeping are b0, b1, b2, 81
all voltage leds on the board light up except southbridge, it will flash the led for highest of the 3 levels and thats it ( other led sets light up all levels until showing actual level of cpu, dram voltage )

have i got a blown mobo or dead q9550

IMO, sounds like a stuffed motherboard. Continuous beeps mean there's no power, loose card, or short.

I'd make sure all motherboard connectors are properly seated (especially the power ones). You could also try taking the board out of the case and testing it on a cardboard/motherboard box with the basics.

Continuous short beeps indicates power error. You dont happen to have another mobo you can test the other hardwares on?
