Soundtrack.

Out of the blue, I was invited to a traditional Easter lunch.

It was enough of an excuse to take a short break to get out of the office and the country, so that I would comply with the dubious regulations set by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. At least, this short reprieve gave me another mandatory exit stamp on the passport and an opportunity to get some much-needed inspiration from my Polish muse and her beautiful Irish setter.

Interesting....I guess I have to ask. i've always wondered how to do this on film cameras. As the shutter doesnt cock without the film going thru the winder?...

Cute dog, cute girl.

The last double exposure seems out of place, though.

more modern film cameras have it built in but older ones you would have to reload the film after winding it back in the spool taking care to load it from the same mark again

My EOS 5 has the ability to do this - you just select how many shots you want to take per frame and it doesn't wind on until they are done.

The easier way - still tricky, but easier, was to press and hold the little film rewind button that was normally under the camera. The function of this little button was to put the film advance cogs into 'neutral'. Then, while still holding the button and with your thumb on the rewind crank to stop the film pulling, you'd carefully cock the shutter again by advancing the film lever. Of course, it didn't advance and so only the shutter button was rearmed.

I find some of the doubles work really well in particular #7 which is my favourite from the set

#4 though I'm not that fond of. The composition is interesting with a chopped face but nothing is in focus apart from a small piece of the shirt

Thanks. Parallax error got the better of me in this one, I intended to focus more on her pendant and probably forgot to compensate for it. It was pretty close focusing so I guess there's a pretty narrow DoF in this one, and the ambient light didn't help much.

I have a few other double exposures, but once they developed there was too much action going on and became quite messy that the idea was lost.

Well with my camera, you take the first picture. There is a lever next to the winding crank which must be pushed forward as you wind the film, this keeps the film in the same place and allows you to take the second exposure, then a third, fourth... as many as you like.
