Default Gigabute GTX680 BIOS.

Hey all.

I was screwing around with a BIOS editor for Nvidia cards, in an attempt to raise the maximum fan speed to the full 100%.

Unfortunately, being the idiot that I am, I did not make a backup of the original BIOS properly. I used GPU-Z, which apparently doesn't make a proper backup.

Would any body here have a Reference GTX680 that they could upload the BIOS from?

Thank you

NvFlash

NvFlash -4 -5 -6 GK104.Rom was the command I used.

To the chap that posted the techpowerup link, I tried almost all of those, even though some weren't for the ref 680. All of them yielded a "Corrupted PCI block" error in NvFlash

Haven't done this myself but have you run "nvflash --list" and tried adding -i<card number> to the command, if you have multiple cards i.e. onboard it may cause an issue.

I was using a Rampage extreme 3,

I think the ROM on the card needs to be unblocked before the flash, I will work it out

It's the BIOS's that they're uploading that is the issue. They're using a version of GPU's that uploads a corrupt or incomplete one. I did a backup of my 460's bios using NvFlash ages ago, and it worked fine. However the GPU-Z one wouldn't

Is it the only card in the system and is it installed in first PCIe (8x/16x) slot?

Also check the Mobo BIOS is set to PCI as primary VGA.

Same here, needs to be a gigabyte mobo to use the software, your not doing anything wrong, just need a complete bios

Have any manufactuers done a updated bios for fans etc? maybe the way to get one.

I have a reference Palit 680 here, maybe I should backup the bios with nvflash, I think that's the only way to get a good copy

I am about to go out, will try later tonight

This is a modded reference bios, I will try it in a minute, stock boost to 1200 mhz, volts to 1.23v http://www.mediafire.com/?8pi85lc27ypvcy8

Ok, flash worked, renamed to mod.rom, nvflash -4-5-6-mod.rom.

Just installing drivers etc to test 3D, I had to put the 680 my rig to flash, I was using other cards

Need to know your original BIOS revision before flashing back to the original.

It can be found on the top (Opposite side of the cooler) of the card amongst all the stickers.
