Default Santos GLNG City of Lights

Hey,

I headed down to South Bank to watch the Santos GLNG City of Lights again this year. Last year I did an exposure blend with two images. This year I got my mate to come along and we tried to get a wider shot. This image contains 4 shots. There is an image blend for the left shot and the right shot and then they were merged.

We had a few technical difficulties. His camera moved between the twilight shot and the light display shot so I had to manually align the images as Photoshop couldn't do it properly. I also had to manually blend the images this year too as the auto blend function in Photoshop revealed poor results. Also, Photoshop had a hard time stitching my first few attempts but was able to stitch this one. I have purchased PTGUI now to use for future stitching.

Anyway image is below. I know it's not prefect but I thought it was good enough to share. Let me know what you think!

The drop shadow makes it look a bit tacky, but otherwise a cool night shot.

Yeah nice shot.

However, IMO this is one those things where the most obvious framing works best, especially since they ditched the lights off QVB. Didn't even bother once I saw that.
