Das Keyboard carbon mod - Vinyl Wrap

Hey guys,

I saw a member of another forum do this that was enough pursuasion for me, the glossy surface really started to get to me.
So i bought some matte black carbon fibre vinyl wrap.
And off i went.

Here she is all shiny, i did have a plan to have a cutout for the LEDs but that went to hell..

Maybe the Rat7 will be next.

Nice, clean job. Is the mouse curvy at all? It doesn't appear to be, but I'd imagine some surfaces would be tricky for the wrap.

Edit: What's the surface texture like on it, too... that vinyl would make it a bit slippery, wouldn't it?

The Rat7 has some curves, and some sharp lines too. I might not even do it, at the moment using a Steelseries Sensei.

The vinyl isn't slippery at all actually, has a nice texture, somewhat grippy.

Use a hair dryer or heat gun (be careful not to burn all kinds of things with the heat gun though!) to warm the vinyl and make it stretch around the shape.

May wreck the pattern of the carbon, make sure you have enough to redo it if needed.

I actually bought mine from a seller on gumtree.

I also tried to use this on the Rat7 but the stuff didn't stick too well to the rubbery rodent

On the keyboard it sticks fine though.

There are loads on Ebay, just get the 3M branded stuff its much nicer to install and the look it much better as well.
