Question "Sysytem Restore" ---> Does it reall...

...restores your system back?

I mean my main concern is an application that I have installed, and I want to get rid of its REGISTRY Entries, will System Restore truely does that? (Windows XP)

If your computer is still working after installing the software, try using the Add/Remove function in Control Panel to uninstall it.
Systm Restore is a feature of winXP that is basically a constant backup service that runs when you make changes to hardware or software configurations to ensure that if the changes do not work, it can revert back to its previous settings and the Operating System can continue to function properly.
I am unsure if that means the deletion of the program if that was what was causing the glitch or not.
Somebody else a bit more knowledgeable on this subject might have a few other points to make.

System restore does not in general remove applications, unless they include drivers/major config changes (like dvd players/cdr/w software and antivirus proggies). To get rid of the entries in registry, go through regedit/hkey_loacl_machine/software/companyname/program/ and delete the program key.

No, system restore cannot reclaim your mbr.
