Dont worry about the temperature. My XP2000 @ 1.7v @ 1750 sits at close to 60C under load. Has not crashed yet.

Case side is open, room and system stay within 1*C of each other.

Chip is running an idle loop, IE/ICQ/Winamp etc.

When I load up a game, I get 50*C.

And sure when I run a game it might go to full load, for full load 10% of the time is better than 100% of the time if I want to keep my room at a reasonable temperature.

Well my computer is crashing..

My card was the culprit at first, but now it's at DEFAULT so it can only be my CPU.. because my FSB is too high.. well not really

its like @ 143.. I think it needs to be unlocked, that's why =(

But I can't do that grr. I'll see how it goes, think I'll change the fan arrangement... and get a CPU cooler.. Volc 9?

Ya recon where the hell ya getting it for that price?

grab me one =D

Foolish child…

F@H > Low idle temps

As if you would run your system with the case side off… That is just like setting up a vaccum cleaner to suck all the dust in… What a silly idea.

Low idle temp = Low room temp; Therefore: Low idle temps > F@H

I knew I did maths for a reason.

Don't get much dust in there either, but I poke around changing drives enough that it gets a clean every other week.

amen to that. nothing worse than walking into (an already) hot room, to realise you've left the pc going all day long crunching. it creates more heat to add to the hot room.

folding season is over... it shall return when they AFL does.

I meant that F@H was more important (greater than) low idle temperatures.

And I meant that actually being able to live comfortably in my house was more important than crunching a few proteins.

What is the point of having a low idle temp? as soon as you use the computer it goes up again so there is no point, just keep folding
I have had my xp running happily at over 70*, then i cleaned all the dust out of my cooler
Listen to this guy

I totally agree with Fodder. The amount of heat put out is sometimes unbearable. The noise of the computer is easy to live with but when it's hot it's another thing. It has been 38 (if you watch the news it says 35 but thisis Darwin city - it's 3 or 4 degrees warmer inland) or so these past few weeks so room temp would easily be 40+. Today was a perfect example. Sure we have aircon but it's not exactly cheap at like $3 or $4 a day just for one room. Comes in handy during winter though..

Muahahahaha... my 1800+ hit a extreme high of 43*C idle the other day when it was like 33*C. Currently we're idle'n at about 32*C.
