Microsoft beta software.
Thanks, but no thanks. Especially after what happened to people who tried the DirectX 8.x beta software - many of them couldn't remove the (deactivated because it timed out) beta version, and had to reinstall Windows in order to install the full version of DirectX.

If you are refering as to why DX9 fixed it. Hmm no idea. Coudl have updated the OpenGL driver or it might be the DX9 beta ATi drivers that fixed the problem. Overall who cares. It works. Last edited by Temujin Morgan; 21st November 2002 at 10:33 AM. |

I cant seem to get it to work
I have tried two Beta 3 releases, the web installer and also the #WiNBETA Repack. Both give me exactly the same problem, everything works until it comes up with some Windows Logo testing crap and says it cannot be installed due to not being certified. I have always run Windows File protection off, to auto ignore and accept files that have not been certified and also have System restore off. I was running non-WHQL 40.72s and had no success with the WHQL either...
