I've been offered a cheap price on this board but the problem is that it only supports up to P3 450mhz. I have a P3 533EB(133x4) to house. Will the board run with my 533EB? To my knowledge it doesn't have any sort of overclocking options at all. I am ok if it underclocks my cpu @ 100x4.
Thanks in advance, Vince. |

You might need to flash the BIOS to support the Coppermine core. Have a look around the intel hardware site to see if an updated BIOS is available which will add support for coppermine (the 533EB is a coppermine).

Well, don't believe any crap from other people who haven't tried higher cpu speeds.
I have a SE440BX and i'm running a P3-1Ghz Slot1 on it. But before you do that, flash your BIOS to the latest. Veeeery stable if you may ask. The only problem is that you can't go beyond 100FSB!! Check out my pc below then if you don't believe.

Yup i knew it.. thanks for your help you guys!
The only thing the board can't support is those early Katmai P3 which sucks wooping 16watts. Coppermines are fine and new Celeries are good too. |
