Default Gran Turismo Sport

So the Paris games show has been a treasure trove of PS4 announcements - this one is bound to get people cautiously excited.

Sony announces Gran Turismo Sport for PS4

Quote:
Today at its Paris Games Week press conference, Sony Computer Entertainment revealed the next entry in its long-running simulation racing series, Gran Turismo Sport.

It will be compatible with PlayStation VR and aims to be "the most realistic driving simulator of all Gran Turismo games to date." No word on a release window, but a beta is planned for early 2016.

No word on release date = 2018 going off their previous release cycles!

Oh well, glad I bought that G29 when they were cheap!

I may be wrong, but from what I am seeing this seems like a filler game to keep people happy until GT7 can finally come out in 2017+.

It just seems to be very focussed on the FIA Championship online, which does sound cool.

I'd just be happy with some new sound effects onto Gran Turismo 6 lol

I've loved every Gran Turismo since the first, but a small sound refresh would do wonders to an already fun experience.

The biggest thing for me that they've got going on is the VR support.

I imagine that'd make things pretty immersive.

Thats for sure, did you ever try any of the Sony VR 3d Glasses out before? Its quite an immmersive experience but I found them quite uncomfy and couldn't sit up close enough to them (probably the shape of my nose sticks out too much doh)

Was a huge GT3 and GT4 fan, think I got around 99% in the former... but they really need to start from the ground up.

The Interface is deplorable, car sounds are generic and rubbish, visuals are dated etc etc

Could learn a thing or two from Project Cars (not the interface though).

And Sony first party studios in Japan should be demolished. How they can get away with releasing nothing for years (Last Guardian anyone?) while a Naughty Dog can go out and release a whole Uncharted series... defies logic. Even Nintendo's development isn't that bad. And don't say it's cause of the quality... the last GT games were disappointments.

not sure if the g29 will work or not. something to do with security flaws on the USB. I know for sure my driving force GT doesnt work with the ps4.

The G29 is specifically made for the PS4, it's the G27 you are thinking of.

^ This.

I picked up my wheel for a bargain from Disksmith Ebay store, $280ish for just the wheel, cheaper than I could find the G27 for sale at the time!

and yet the G29 = scaled back version of the G27...

It's bloody crap in my opinion that the G27 is such a cracking good wheel, that they can't make it compatible.

Instead every new console it seems you have to buy a new wheel.

This and the fact that no wheel works on both system is so annoying. Sony & MS have mandated that no wheel can work on both.

(And yes, I know that the Fanatec CS wheel does work with both, but you have to buy the specific $400 dollar adapters for it to work on the consoles.
