While its great for everyone not rocking high-end, there is little to excite me personally. I hope AMD gets a lift from this and its a strong chip as its rumoured to be powering the new consoles.

If it really is $300-350AUD (after the initial gouging settles down) and slightly above GTX970 performance and its shut-up-and-take-my-money

Would be same for me. 970 performance JUST handles 1440p gaming, would be nice to handle it comfortably for a pretty small changeover cost.

This from Facebook...

Looks to strictly be targeting the 1080, or less, 60fps market. As expected. It's release should not and will not have any affect on the 1070 and 1080 pricing. Those are both 1440p and above cards, or 1080 @ 120Hz and above cards. Something the 480 won't be capable of.

This card will be competing with the 1060, and I wouldn't be surprised to see Nvidia release information on the 1060 to try and steal some of the 480's thunder.

A cut down GP106 should handle the same target market at an approximate $200 price point. It would leave Nvidia room to release a 1060 Ti on the full GP106 chip in the $279 range to compete with the probable 480X

Same here but i fear people will stick with nvidia because it's the brand associated with high end even if they're getting a lower end card.

The Ashes of singularity video was bunk, Different video settings and resolutions from the looks of it, Looked like the 1080 was cranked to at least 1440p and ultra and the 480 xfire was 1080 or 720 on medium

$199 for the RX480 4gb model?

Assuming the 8gb is ~$250, as the example in the live stream priced it at <$500 for a pair of RX480s.

Was keen on release date info, the presentation for the RX480 was a bit rough and light on details.

I'm confused with this image, it's showing the rx480 as having 51% gpu utilization whilst in xfire why would that be so low?

Under-utilization.
Raja said the cards have more headroom so when drivers are optimized and api's progress more will be able to be extracted out of the dual gpu's

Doesn't that make it clear they're skewing the results? Shouldn't that mean a single 480 would be keeping up with a 1080 in that proposed scenario (which is obviously not going to be the case)

When they played that "I Am Zen" video with the dread-themed music, there was this awkward atmosphere and barely anyone clapped.

I think that was the sound of AMD dying. Their eternal state of 'zen'?
