Exclamation ATI Catalyst 2.5 Drivers

Get them from the ATI Site.
Drivers Link @ ATI

- OR -

Direct Link to Drivers:
http://pdownload.mii.instacontent.ne...0-6218-efg.exe

Direct Link to Control Panel:
http://pdownload.mii.instacontent.ne...0-4000-efg.exe

Those links might or might not work as ya had to go through the menu selecting the OS, card type etc..

Fixed in this driver:

Display Driver
The RADEON™ 9700, RADEON™9500, RADEON™ 9000, and RADEON™ 8500 series no longer experience slow downs when moving WINAMP windows around the display area
The system display panel no longer shows the incorrect ATI driver version after installing a secondary ATI card when using a multi monitor configuration
Running the 3DMark2001 Lobby test on RADEON™ 7000 card no longer suffers from display corruption (specifically found in Max Payne's glasses)
Display corruption is no longer found when playing the game Revolt
Running multiple 3DLab demos under Windows 2000 or XP when using a RADEON™ 9000 Pro will no longer result in a system hang

Well, the unofficial, 30Mb ones I downloaded made everything super crap and super slow... So I hope these ones don't do the same. Restarting 8 million times to install ATi drivers isn't exactly what I call fun.

ati offer the driver set separated (5.5mb for the driver, 4.7mb for the control panel)

to answer my own question, these drivers do not have the opengl refresh rate lock. This is a quote from an ATI representitive on the Rage3D forums

"Regarding 9700 issues:

Truform slider: It's there, download again.

NWN: Yes, with this latest driver the "shiny water" is gone :-( -- However, patch 1.28 (the "next" one) from bioware should fix it (not confirmed, but I hope it's included). The initial shader supplied for the shiny water had a bug in it (which the previous drivers allowed). The new shader is better and has that fixed. However, until they provide the new shader, we are stuck without Shiny water. Your choice: Stick with an older driver or wait for next NWN patch.

Stuttering: Not really fixed in this driver. Some improvements, but what I thought was going to be in the "next driver" was not. So, next driver (7.81 base) should have a lot of stuttering fixes and a few other "performance" related fixes. I do hope that it fixes most occurences of these problems.

Performance: Generally, performance should be quite a bit higher than the catalyst 2.4 drivers.

These drivers appear to have fixed some stuttering problems I was having in the Rallisport Challenge demo, and if I'm not mistaken, UT2003 seems to be running a bit smoother. So, overall, they're better.

Well, they include fix's for previous cards, so no harm in trying them out

They havnt really fixed any of my issues.
BUT.... CATYLIST MAKER, an ATi represntative who posts at rage3d, said the next catylsists will be a "biggie!"

hopefully they iron out all my problems before the remainder of my hollidays is up..

Have found these new drivers excellent to say the least. Everything seems to work great so far, especially with AA and AF. Hopefully the next drivers will fix any problems other people are having, as everything is working sweet here

I've never crashed in UT2003 with any ATi driver set, so I don't know what problem you are experiencing. This driver set seems a lot smoother in UT2003 gameplay, and the fps doesn't seem to dip anymore

I can say from Sof2, NOLF2, RalliSport etc, drivers are a little better.. I'd say they are at v 0.7 of the least id expect from shipping products. if they manage to go the extra 0.3 ill keep this raddy otherwise its up for grabs.

Stutter is reduced not eliminated.
GFX glitches still exist (as in task swapping etc)
I havent locked up with this driver set.. WHOA

ATI where is catalyst 3.0 ?

Humm deee hum

Well, I can run UT2003 looping for about 5-6 hours before it crashes.. i'm sure that this isn't a heat problem and it doesn't happen with my Ti4600 so i'm guessing it's the driver set.
