Smile Delidding Service

Hi everyone,

Wondering if there's anywhere in Aus that offers a deliding service like Silicon Lottery does.

Thanks all.

Hey mate,

I was after the same thing, but was unable to find one.
Thus, I spent $50 AUD on a Rockit 88 Delid and Re-lid tool.

As I have all the tools here, and with enough Liquid Ultra to boot, I am happy to offer this service.

I've successfully de-lidded my 3770k and 7700k
I have before and after pics of the 3770k.

PM me if you want to know more.

Cheers.

I've been doing it for a few users here on OCAU.

You pay post to and from me and a small fee for the time and products needed, and we can work it all out. Just finished one up last night which is heading home today, he dropped 22 degrees on load with a 7700k.

If a Skylake or Kaby, I can test before and after for you. I don't have Haswell or Ivy boards on hand, so can't test them out.

Send me a pm if your interested.

I haven't send it off yet, but I'll let people know how it all goes once it's all done, for any newbies who are interested in this service.

Tempted to send my 4790k to you for this, but reading mixed reviews, ranging form "dropped 25 - 30c @ load" to "5 - 7c cooler at best"? If it is somewhere in the middle of these (say 15c) I'd be happy.

Mines sitting on a mild OC (4.692ghz) and hits 88c (about 60c above ambient) in IBU.

Voltages could go higher if i could run cooler...

Has anyone on here done this with a 4790k? What were the results?

Also - please correct me if I'm wrong - but Delidding means removing the lid, replacing the TIM with a better one and replacing the lid? So I can use my existing (air) cooler with no mounting modifications required?

Crazy not to IMO. All unsoldered intel K chips NEED to be delidded... the stupid crap TIM is an insult to us, the customer, who pay $500 for these things.

Instructions, videos and comparative benchmarks.
