Bwa ha ha ha!
The beast, having taken on a high electrical shock, reared up and roared! Prepare to be appalled at my l337 gh3770 5ki11z. I'd just like to say how easy it all was. I'd like to, but it would be a lie. ![]() That said, it came in at $230 and includes an eheim 1250 and two heater cores. It ain't pretty, but its cheap JUST LIKE ME. Idle temps earlier today were around 32c when ambient was 23c or so, and running CPUBurn for an hour only saw that climb to 35/36c. That's down around 10 degrees from air cooling, with two 7v fans, CRAP ducting work, and a water block from yesterday. Which is good. Lots of low hanging fruit for improvement..... LHG |

I just got sick of waiting for a certain group purchase to go through (:P - lol) and thought: sod this, lets stick it in. The two boxes were in my recycling bin, and screamed "look, we're just right for your fans!"
Seriously though, I'll be making up some new shrounds shortly. I think I have come up with a way to make a 25cm long shroud for $bugger_all using materials from Bunnings and tools even I have at home. I'm not saying I'm an innovator and in hasn't been done before though, I just haven't seen it..... Oh: in my image hunting, I found a snapshot of my MBM software from air-cooled days. CPU temp was 51 degrees C, but ambient and load conditions were unknown. Pretty hot though... Last edited by Long Haired Git; 2nd January 2003 at 8:42 AM. |

Ahh, but my shroud won't have the dead spots as per that other thread (don't have time to find thread, gotta get to lunch), and my Al working skills wouldn't be able to handle the square -> round transition.

Junks - all the for-sale forum thread said was "Toyota Heater Core". The SA is approx 180 x 150, and both barbs exit to the side, with the bottom tank thus a "turn around point".
I'll dig up a photo when I get home. |

Not original though.
Guy at overclockers.com had dual cores held in place using large bore PVC piping, which also was a reservoir. It was neat, tidy, and worked well. I am really happy with the results. Given I know its flowing <3 LPM, it says a lot about the dual cores and low-velocity pump inlet ideas... |

Heng - my shrouds work a treat!
Check out the web site... Bwa ha ha ha! Seriously though, how "thick" can the shroud be? How much room do you have? |
