Question max celeron cpu for p3v4x

I am looking to update my aging p2/266 (oc'd to 300), with something faster. Anyone know if the p3v4x will support the new 100Mhz celerons? If so, what is max speed? The 1Ghz cele is out soon.

Thanks,
Cevad

I got a cel 800 in my p3v4x, i'm pretty sure that it could handle the 1gig versions

Yeah the 100s will work . Asus confirmed the 900 will in their cpu listing on the German Faqs. They still have a ? against the 1000 and 1100s though. I would expect no problem unless the bios has a recognition issue . So 1g Celeron should work up to someone to try 1 i suppose or for asus to get a move on.

The Celerons 1.0 and 1,1 GHz are CD0-Stepping and should run properly on the P3V4X. You should use a ASUS S370-DL Slocket and upgrade to BIOS 1006 Beta 3 which makes the Board recognise the CD0-Stepping correctly, I use a PIII 1gig CD0 myself on this board...

PS.: The bios is available here: ftp://ftp.asuscom.de/pub/ASUSCOM/BIO...ro_133A/P3V4X/
