that is quite a good layout. I've designed a similar block that covers the GPU, and has support for a cold plate and peltier.

However, that block covers the ram chips, and its pretty impressive

DAMN.... i wish i had access to a CNC machine or at least a drill press with decent milling bits.

But good work... now it looks like it needs maybe a stronger peltier and a good buffing

Well some news
I've put an external thermo on the upside of my card and the temp is 2°C... So Asus Smart doctor is mad
I've made the voltage modification

some photos and the results

274 for the GPU
600 for the ram (so no gain)

Just a word of warning regarding using a drill press for milling work.
99% of all drill presses on the market will not be suitable for milling work. They are not sturdy enough as they are designed for only axial loads and wil move if any reasonable side loads are put on them.
The purpose designed mill/drills are OK for light work but are a pain if you need to do any milling at an angle since the head is fixed at 90 degrees.
Been there done that with gunsmithing work.
As for getting access to some machinery you might try night classes at TAFE but I doubt if they would turn a newbie loose on a CNC machining centre but manually operated mills shouldn't be too much of a problem.

Mimmi74 - I'd be interested to know what machinery and tooling was usedto make this thing. Copper is a pain to machine unless you have the correct tooling --- custom made HSS cutters ???
How do you ensure good contact with the ram chips?

Nice work BTW and it's good to see you haven't mixed metals in there

Fairly expensive at ~AUD$200+ inc delivery each. Add in the cost of an Asus GF3 card and you're well over a grand.
