Angry Geelong based ISP problems.......:)

OK....

Anyone here currently in Geelong or close by? If you are reading this then you must have an ISP soooo....

I use Jennings Internet ($24.95 p/m Unlimted Time/Downloads 4hr cutoff). For 4 months now i have been using them, and have downloaded between 1.6 to 1.9GB per month.

Just yesterday i recived an email telling me that i fall within the "resonable use" policy (not 'their' policy- 'the' reasonable use policy that 'many ISP's use' -according to them), and that my account will be closed for good by them on July 7th.

I was led to belive that their plan was 100% unlimited except for the 4 hour cutoff.

I must say this came as a shock. I had not recived ANY prior notification of my supposed 'excessive usage', nor can i find ANY reasonable use catches on their website (there is not even the standard '*' to point to some special terms and conditions).

I can see their point, but only if a person KNOWS they are breaking the acceptable usage policy, and if they are WARNED of an impending account cancellation.....

I really liked this ISP as well, because its based locally and always gives me 5 - 6k/s speeds.

Because of this it looks like i'm off to look for a new ISP

So anyway, anyone in Geelong or around Geelong--- what ISP do you use??

Any other general comments on my predicament would be greatly appreciated....

Thanks.....

By the way, did anyone notice that you cannot sign up to the OCAU forums with a hotmail email address?........

I even though U downloaded alot.... I would contact the telecomunications obusman.

Without even a warning seems lame.... as it states unlimited time/downloads.....

Sorry, i'm just dredging this up from the bottom of the barrel

A year on, this is the update----------------------

Funnily enough, jennings recently changed back to unlimited, and also took away the 4hr session limits!

Its only Nov 8th and i've already pulled almost 2GB since the start of the month.

Anyway, just thought it was funny, as they are now a huge ISP player in geelong... so I guess they have the low volume user base, and the money to switch back to full unlimited.
