how do i enable dma mode in xp?

My 16x DVD Rom is ripping at 1.3x it used to average between 7x and 9x till i reinstalled xp now i cant remember where to go to enable DMA mode. Please Help me!

Go into "system" in your control panel and select the drive and change it there. Cheers

go into device manager, then into the properties for the IDE channel the drive is on.
then click the advanced tab and select DMA if available.
