Bastid!
We had a good thread going there.
Oh well.

Instead of me going on about who I'm chasing I'm doing my best of a Ginger Bread man impersonation trying not to get caught by Rob...

Ver2.

The first thread was legendary. It was like a database of everyone's onslaught on the stats.

To all SETI peeps, lets continue the tradition built on the first one and make this a thread of epic proportions. I'll be back crunching in a few days, so I can have a legitimate excuse to post in this thread.

Anyway check this out. Our stats for September:

Quote:
Seti - Rank - 120th up 2
Production - 1,622 results down 11.17%
We sure are kicking some arse.

All those wonderfull posts gone! Bummer

Finally I'm into the 2000 club, my last 10 WU seemed to take forever to complete. Next I'm knocking Manaz out of the top 15, but that's not much challenge when he's stopping crunch SETI.

My guess is within 6 days at current crunchin rate. I'm building my Dual PIII/500 (i know it's been coming for a while now ) tonite. But that will only delay the inevitable.

Good thing I've got my avatar in my PC, can't say the same for my sig though, arggh!! I'm going to have to redo it

My thread, my beautiful thread! If were to die next week at least I had that thread! But you got the topic right, except I had it in lower case (I'll forgive, we're not all perfect ).

Apparently we had a power flash last night. I was of course away for the weekend which means I lost a good 24hrs worth of crunching.

Double up on the bad mojo.

Actually if Zzapped hadn't posted this thread, I would have. You get props for the original thread Foder. It was the biggest DC thread with nearly? three hundred posts. Maybe Agg could somehow salvage a more recent version of the forum? I hope so.

The stats were very good , we should keep that going.
Like you THX , I lost my avatar..........Ill have to make do with the new one for a while till I can find a good one.
On another note , a few personal stats that you may find interesting.
I have a p2/400 running win2k here which acts as purely a file server and my setiq machine. It serves very few files and takes average of 12.5 hrs to crunch a seti unit
I also hyave a celery 333 which is running redhat 6.2 , that takes 14 hrs.
Seems the linux box is quicker on a per mhz basis.I read in the old post that someone had similar results , makes me think of switching the main p3 770 machine here to linux..............

good to see ya back crunching again eazy.
Im hopeful(not confident) that over the next 2 weeks at work when everybody bar a few of us are on leave , that I can make use of one of the xeon 933 machines we have there.I reckon they would crunch a wu in about 5 hrs considering my p3 1 gig machines do it in around 6 - 7 hrs

Just thinking, is there a database, or a list, of what times it takes to complete a single unit? I've seen the website that estimates based on hardware configuration, but I would like to see a real life scenario of times.

Have a look at good old Arstechnica's Teamlambchop (stupid bloody name ) and then click on the 1 - 100, 101 - 200 etc on the side bar.

Damn, the thread is gone, what a waste! Anyone got the thing cached or otherwise backed up, and can somehow restore the thread to its previous glory? Sad really, but shit happens.

Rob damn you, creeping ever closer, and I'm still only using my own PCs to crunch for OCAU SETI. Some more would really come in handy, need some PsyKo Billy style pimpage....

I WILL stay in front, somehow. How much is a 16 CPU Alpha UNIX box anyway????

Just one thing was missing, the 5 star rating, so I helped fix that

Now who do I have in my crosshairs? I finally made my top ten, and Truncheon, you're next, but it is a very big hill to conquer. You are still more than 200 infront of me, and I seem to have only gained about 15 WU over the last five days or so.
