hey.. i juz had a thought... (now stop laffing)

With the introduction of the ClawHammer and various other 64bit chips..

i was thinking.. would it be possible for a chip.. that was made to do 64bit instructions.. and be compatible with older 32bit programs.. i know the clawhammer is.. but.. here me out..

seeming its width is 64bit.. it should be able to stream 2 32bit instructions at the same time.. or 1 64bit instruction..
like..

having 2 32bit cpus working independantly.. but able to work together to process a 64bit instruction..

this would be kickass for the seti community..
=]

duel 64bit system crunching 4 WUs at the same time!!

i know this is probably nonsense.. and there is likely to be more complicated issues involved.. but this is my wish.. to have a 64bit chip.. that can process 2 32bit instructions independantly..

no I think your wish would be to even own a 64bit proc in the near future, unless one kinda falls off the back of a truck

As far as I know, this is impossible.. there's only 1 core on the chip, therefore one instruction at a time, regardless if it's 64 bit or 32bit..

however, 64-bit seti could theretically be twice as fast

and I don't doubt that they will release it, considering the amount of seti builds they have for completely different processors.

No problems here, Zzapped...my most recently completed wu was uploaded nicely about 2 hours ago...although I don't generate quite the same volume of traffic as yourself

Just go into c:\Program Files\SetiQueue\Client and copy them. Each result file is only like 5kb so you should easily be able to fit a whole bunch on floppy.
