Yes I've installed it and no problems at all in WinXP Pro.

Thanks for that PI; no obvious glitches sounds good. I thought XP (&Pro) had some generic(?)
Via drivers built-in? Have you noticed any probs with generics? Any improvements with latest Via proper? kind regards arew |

I don't think you'll notice any difference in Sandra memory benchmark, but try the Hard disk benchmark, as well as HDTach benchmark...they should have increased slightly.
I also benchmarked my graphics using 3Dmark2001 before the 410 AGP and afterwards, and I did gain around 50-80 points - not exactly awesome, but proof the newer AGP driver is a little better and certainly has been very stable on my system.

RTCW was crashing a fair bit before, but I installed the latest AGP & 4in1, and everything is going great and stable. No crashes since.

I would suggest your overclocking may be the problem.
Honestly, with my new rig when I run it at default speed it hasn't had a single problem with any of the Via 4-in-1s in WinXP, nor with the AGP driver or any games or software. Overclocking can (sometimes very subtly) bring out problems in your machine. If you can reproduce the problem at default clock then there may be something to it.

Ok well the problem isn't the 4-in-1s.
Next place to look is your BIOS settings, your memory in particular. Are you 100% certain your memory timings and associated settings are not the cause? A single memory setting like Command Rate of 1T instead of 2T can cause regular crashes. Also, heat can be a problem even when your system isn't overclocked. I wouldn't rule that out also, especially on the graphics card. Either way, the 4-in-1s run fine on a lot of people's rigs, so I would try everything else before blaming the drivers. If you post more info in a separate thread maybe we can help?

In all cases, point to drivers first, then to hardware second

I have Asus A7V266, 2x128ddr(slots2&3), ati radeon 32ddr agp, sblive(slot4), diamond modem(slot3), xp1600cpu.
I have had endless trouble trying to get my system to run without crashing. I use win98, with 4in1 4.37 installed, directx8.1, and latest ati drivers. Problems occur when attempting to play any games - regular crashes at various points in games(lockups or dumps back to desktop). After a lot of frustration i thought it was the graphics card, so tried a tnt2 i borrowed but just the same. After sitting back and thinking and doing a little research i have come to the conclusion that it must be the memory settings. I have latest bios(003_15). The fast write is disabled, PnP os disabled, auto memory config (by Spd) I reckon its the defaults or auto settings that are loaded in the bios. I think that auto attempts to run ram speed too fast thus causing lockups in intensive applications. I will try T2 instead of T1 etc in the memory settings and let you know how i get on - also i'll move the ddr sticks to slots1 and 3 to see if it helps(I have read that the southbridge or northbridge reads any empty slots as having memory or something similar so it is recommended to fill slot 3 but i'll move the other stick to slot1 and keep the other in 3) feel free to mail me at andy.haslam@man.ac.uk

Nimrod, check out the rage3d forums. If it's a problem specific to your card, no doubt someone there has experienced it.
