After my experience with the GTRPC being nicked, the Imperator will be housed in a secure display case when not in use.

hehe, yeh sorry.

get one of those bank vaults. like 3 inch thick re-inforced steel. with 2 inch concrete lining. and a 6 inch pure glass door.

that will do nicely!

ROFL.

anyway, what an AWESOME project, i hope it turns out well, maybe you could use silversolder to join the Al ?

what WOULD be cool, is instead of huge engines, cut the fan frame from and LED fan, and use a blue one, it would look like the real engines, AND ventalate all the air inside

I'm probably going to use brackets and rivets to hold it all together, screws where it needs to come apart. I may weld some bits if I need to, I have access to an Aluminium welding guru.

The rear engines will be true to the original. I haven't quite figured out how I'm going to make them. I'll either use something like a reflector from a spotlight, or get them CNC machined if I can't find anything the right size and shape. For cooling I'm using a "ducted" system. Air is drawn in through the front fighter hanger by a 120mm fan mounted in the upper decks - practically right above the CPU. The air is then vented via the "portals" on the deck sides.

I spent hours at the Magic of Myth Exhibition in Sydney eyeballing and photographing the 2.59m Star Destroyer, I'm attempting to make an accurate replica at a smaller scale - with a PC in it of course.

I have no idea what system is going to go in it. It's still a way before completion and it'll take the bank balance a while to recover from the construction bill.

The CD/DVD will be accessible in the gap between the hulls.
