Unhappy Why can't we get chips like this here !?

I've seen plenty of threads like this from guys living overseas: Another happy DLT3C TBred-B owner . Those CPU's are going extinct soon but the bad thing is only a handful of those ever reached Australia Instead of those chips we're stuck with recent 2000+, 2100+ & 2200+ (well not really recent as some were made around week 40, 2002) that blow ! The 1700+'s we got earlier weren't very good either. In the last 3-4 weeks I've tested 1x 1700+, 2x 2100+ and a 2000+ and all were struggling to reach 2.2GHz - the 2000+ was horrible: it needed 1.75 Vcore to do a Sandra bench at 2GHz so I threw it out instantly

Can anyone show me a reason why we didn't get many of DLT3C 1700+'s or 1800+'s ? Any reason

Population numbers. America has 10 times the amount of people we do, as does europe.

No idea there.

My latest processor was purchased from Chainbolt, who informs me it isnt a dud, and probably capable of 2.4gig @1.7v.

Yeah but also these new DLT3C chips get really hot at lower voltages apparently hence not being able to push them over 1.85v on air and getting really hot, well from what ive read and heard.

Well recently I suppose not but there has been the week 16 AGOIA's that seemed to originate from OCAU...

Anyway these chips are amazing, and at $120 for one that can outperform anything on the entire market, it was a good thing for Americans. Too bad we never saw them

The DTLC chips are OEM no?

our distributors dont get OEM XP chips anymore - well not the big ones anyway
Maybe USA - due to pop. size can get OEM still

also AMD chips are made in malaysia last time i checked

Well yeah if the OC is unstable it doesn't mean anything. The OC results I mentioned in my opening post, same as every other OC result I've posted (unless specified), are stable ones.

Default Orders

As in the past a distributer puts in a large order and AMD will manufacture the CPu .

The darn XP1700 has had production stopped twice now .

So I beleave that a distributer wanted XP1700 so AMD used what ever cores available , hence some overclock like crazzy and def voltage is 1.5 .

So dep on the dist , they may have nothing to do with Australia

So RIP XP1700 for the second time .

Some of these cpu's did make it here , but they may have been snapped up by oem builders before reaching retail levels .

I know that my local wholesaler had some , but they sold them all to a system builder . YEAH what a waste of good overclocking cpu's . If they were the 1.5volt ones .

Without OEM cpu's pre-testing is out , and no one is currently selling OEM in Australia , there all boxed cpu's .

So its back to luck of the draw , invest a few grand to find one good chip and hope that you can offload the rest without to large a loss .
