I have this kickass old record from a group called Goldrush. It was recorded live by Double J (back before they graduated to a 3rd J) and it was Tommy & Phils band.

Phil was on guitar, and Tommy was the drummer. But they did all sorts of weird stuff, including an awesome medley of the Peter Gunn Theme, with both Tommy & Phil on guitars, and in between each melody, they went into things like Duelling Banjos, the Beverly Hillbillies theme etc.

Very cool record, and very much worth the $2 I paid for it.

pick me pick me!

ok, umm,

those heavy metal guitarists have a lot of talent but their shit all sounds pretty similar, i like origionality

Tom Morello (RATM) is amazing... i have this live video of RATM, he takes his lead out and plays the solo with it... like scratchin with it..

John Frusciante (RHCP)- makes really origional sounding stuff, the solo's just fit so well, i love the I Could Have Lied solo... lots more, but im listening to that song right now.

Mike Einziger (incubus) i love some of the chords and stuff he comes up with... really origional stuff.

Jimi Hendrix no comment required i believe

Robby Krieger (the doors) not the best, but hes awesome, i love spanish caravan,

umm, the list could go on for a while... a few people mentioned their favourite bass players... so umm, here we go.

Flea
Rhynow (mudvayne)
Les Claypool
Justin Chancellor
chick from APC... multi-talented.
