I want to use my own wallpapers on my new Nokia 6610, does anyone know how I send them to my phone via the internet? Or, does anyone have any links to any sites that may be able to help me?

There is a new "mobile phone" thread...should have posted ur question there....iam sure it will be moved there soon.
The answer to your question is to buy urself a data cable from http://www.circuitcentral.com.au/ like i did for my 6610....you will be able to upload ring tones, wallpapers and do so much more....

Well, if you have webspace with your isp upload it to that then access it via gprs or wap do this by finding out the web address of the file you uploaded say, http://members.optushome.com.au/megabaz/1.gif
then go to this address in your wap browser by typing it out (you can test it out by going to that address above as it is on of the wallpapers i have used) if you wish to make a image you will need to resize the image to 128x128, also try and make the image as small as possible to make best use of the space on the phone, programs like photoshop will do the job nicely.

I was wondering the same thing, thanks, helped a lot. When connecting with GPRS do you have to manually disconnect or anything? I just connected to that url, saved the image, but wasnt sure on disconnecting. Is it pay for only what you download?
Does it cost much? |

I send my pics/animations/tones to my 6610 via web mms. If you look around the optus website you'll find the section that will allow you to do this. You will be charged the normal rate (70c for me) and it will be on your phone bill.
I'm with B, and alot of people who own the 6610 are, so heres the site for B customers B Web MMS You have to have signed up with their web services (account viewing, upadating and stuff). I would think that's the easiest way for anyone without a data cable IR module to send stuff to their phone. Hope that helps
