Hi All
I'm being suckered in by these two phones at the moment, and I was wondering if anyone had used these two phones and had any opinions on them?? I've read a lot of the threads here, but don't think I've seen a comparison of the two. Atm, I'm favouring the 5100 - I know it's butt-ugly(imo), but I've also read that the screen & ringtones are slightly better on this. Plus I can drop it without worrying too much Can anyone help? Thanks Snowman Last edited by snowman; 3rd June 2003 at 12:59 PM. |

Both phones are pretty similar in features to each other.
6610 looks more business like while the 5100 is sporty. 6610 is also a bit cheaper ($50+)... They are both excellent phones, take your pick

The main reason I went for the 5100 is because I wanted it to last and I didn't want to have to freak out every time I dropped the phone.
I love the phone, I haven't had any problems with it yet.. the only issue I have with it is that the buttons are a little hard to press. But you can probably get a new button pad thing for it anyway. I also like to know that my phone is in my pocket, I hate having a phone that is so small you don't even know you are carrying it on you. This phone is perfect, its not too heavy or too bulky. But still large enough to know its there.

These links might come in handy..
Nokia 6610 Review Nokia 5110 Review Phone Comparison The features that the 5110 has over the 6610 are: Has a flash light, might come in handy sometime. Sound meter, calorie counter, and timer/stopwatch features and built-in thermometer. Not sure how well these features appeal to you.

6510's sold for abit and then no more came into australia... so i reckon 6610 will be ur safe bet,,looks like it'll be the next 8210 |

Well, the 6510 didn't really have a dedicated market to itself as it was basically an 8310, which a lot of business people chose (as well as the 6310(i)) over the 6510 because of the looks. Despite all of this, the 6510 is still better!
![]() The 5100 is like the replacement for the 5210, so it does have a market and I think will stay around for a while, it's just not my cup of tea. ![]() The 6610 is marketed towards business minded individuals but i've seen a lot of other people around with these are they are cheap(ish) colour phones with polyphonic tones support and cheaper than the 7210, which looks better IMHO. |

Are there any places in Melb/Vic that sell phones at decent prices? Or is it better to order off the web?? I had a look at my local Telstra shop, but they were way over-priced. I want to buy one outright as I'm out of contract on my old phone & want to keep the number.

I should mention I'm currently on Telstra, and am in Country Vic, if that helps any?
Plus, I just saw an ad in the Herald Sun with a 6610 for $0 on a $40 plan, is this good value? |

I would definitely agree with the 6610 being the next 8210 tho - they have dicky screens just like the 8210 had :P Another one returned today with screen flickering... +1 to tally :P |
