Im checking out the Dreamvision Starlight DL-500 Projector this weekend its a lot more reasonably priced than most DLP projectors and seems to have a lot of good features. It will be interesting to see what its like when demo'ed.

If you want the best picture available, a Runco VX3-DLP $132,000.00. + screen, They do have cheaper ones.

Seriously though. www.projectorcentral.com,
The section on LCD V's DLP is a good place to start. Looks like DLP wins.

but if you put CRT into the equation, CRT wins hands down, and to have a DLP projector comparible to a CRT unit, (ie triple DLP), you're looking at at least double or triple the price of CRT units.

Ive seen the sony 10HT and it looked pretty great, the 11HT would look even better. and much cheaper than all the other units mentioned.

The Sony VPL-VW10HT or 11HT are the hot tickets for LCD - they are widescreen and they look damn good. A couple of caveats - they are well over $10,000 (and they do look twice as good as the 'crap' at $5,000), lamps are several hundred and they do not tend to get along all that well with VGA (long story and I'm too fucked to relate it now).

There are supposedly some nice DLP units coming out for under $10,000... however I'm more partial to plasma displays right now.
