Was wondering if it was possible to make a local debian mirror which i could use to install debian over a network to another pc, just from the distro cd's that I've downloaded?
Could someone maybe point me in the right direction? |

Debian should be able to do a network install. Just point it to a local http/ftp/nfs server, and use a network bootdisk.

yes debian will do a networked install
But you'd need to setup a package repository...which i havent done it but debian have good docs. this looks like what your after pls post back here with results, cause im looking to do the same thing EDIT: when doing the actual install you just tell it that your apt source is the other machine. you still need to install a base system (~70MB), which can be done from install CD or floppy read here Last edited by ConundruM; 4th July 2003 at 8:45 AM. |
