Hemerage,

Can you receive sms from anyone else?

If not you may have an incoming sms bar on your phone, it can sometimes happen when you run out of credit

ICQ sms works for me to Vodafone, and telstra prepaid, but Apparently telstra prepaid users get charged for INCOMING free sms's from the net., so watch out.

I've never had any luck with optus on the net

You have to drop the first 0 on the mobile numbers i've found

And add the country code (Mirabilis icq does this automatically cause you have to choose which country you're in)

So
0405 666 666

Becomes

+61405 666 666

To send an icq to.

Try that.

Message persistance (validity) on free sms servers is set to zero.
This means that if the message doesn't go straight through to your phone then you never get it.
