Talking High Definition Digital TV - OOOH BABY!

When I saw it, it left me like this :

Amazing picture quality. This was at Hardley Normal on a Sony W/S TV. Channel 10 is running a High Definition demo on one of their channels. AMAZING! *stares in amazment*

Are the Sony HDTV's 100Hz (refresh rate) or still 60Hz?

Yeh, HDTV's look very very real compared to standard tv sets, i saw one up at a hi-fi shop in Wollongong playing MIB, and i was literally blow away at the image quality.

Yeah HDTV looks cool if you can get it in your area.

We looked into it and were told that we wouldn't get Channel 10 at all and sometimes not Channel Nine.

Probably why it isn't available in my area then

Doesn't say much for HDTV if one of the most popular stations doesn't even broadcast

I thought that under the new regulations that all channels had to telecast x hrs of HDTV a week. This was so that people who bought HDTVs would actually be able to use them to their full potential and not waste their money on something that is rarely used.

In Australia, TV's don't run at 60Hz, they run at 50Hz, same as our power system.

I saw a HDTV demo about 1/2 a year ago now with some ABC guys on a Hi-Def 1024x1024 Res. Fujitsu Plasma of a Football (Soccer) Game and it was awesome and then I saw a Ch. Ten demo on a nice Thompson Plasma (Looked a whole lot better than the Sony's that they had running as sony's just use badged lower resolution Fujitsu Plasma Glass.) at the consumer electronics show (I had a VIP pass, YAY). It looks nice

Exclamation

10 is recording much in W/S but most of the TV shows are actually being broadcast in Widescreen. Same with 7, 9,ABC and SBS. Although, in classic SBS style, there was no signal to SBS on this Set-top box. LOL . BTW, Nine's cricket is in Widescreen .
