Default pII 266 locked or not?

is the PII 266's clock multiplier locked?

and how can i unlock a PII processor if it is locked.

i don't think they're locked.
try it and see.

if it is locked, there is no way to unlock it.

Some are locked, some aren't. Intel started locking all processors in August 1998, and any CPU manufactured after that date will have its multiplier locked.

As a general rule of thumb, the 0.35 micron Klamath PII-266s are unlocked, whereas the later 0.25 micron Deschutes PII-266s are mostly locked. However this can vary: it purely depends on the date of manufacture.

Default ive got a pentiumII 300 Klamath

its not unlocked ... ifact i couldnt work out wether it was 100 or 66 bus and the cpu ran at both

100 * 3 and
4.5*66

so i guess they are unlocked

the default multi/bus would be 4x66, however, many run at 4x100 anyway

what board are you using? ie. Is it possible to run it @ 2x133 or something like that??
