Question DJ Programs , similar to Ejay?

Im interested in mucking around making my own dance/clubbing music , is there any programs (preferably free) similar to eJay ?

Im not good with technical things Something simple and effective would be good. Also is there sites i can download beats, tunes, samples etc to put in mixes?

cheers
SHizz.

Fruitloops is a good program...

I've used it a few times and you can get some really good tunes happening with it.

frooty loops is bloody hard to use

so easy and even the most random entry will give you a good song.

theres heaps of stuff going around like this now, but they are all crappy little ones...

I do heaps of stuffing around like that, i mostly use these of programs:

- Acid Pro 4.0
- Tracktor DJ Studio 2.0
- Fruity Loops 4.12
- Absynth 2.0
- Cool Edit 2.1 (What's the deal with Adobe buying that btw?)
- Analog X Scratch 1.05

It'd be great if someone could post a few free site for samples aswell

Arguably the finest DJ (he said DJ program, not sequencer) program available is Native Instruments' Traktor. Its a bargain at $400.

http://www.nativeinstruments.de/inde...raktormixer_us

I dont have anywhere to host a few hundred meg of samples, but if you hop on Kazaa you might be able to get a few things I mixed:

Magenta Broken - Octane Ambient Minimalism Dub-Tech Mix (very late night doof wind-down)
Pleiadians - Identified Flying Object - Sampler (mindfuck psytrance)

For all the victorian DSL users, I can post the above to the pipe newsgroups if you wish (I already have a while ago). PM me.

Its far more enjoyable, fun and musically-unique if you make your own. Using the same as everyone elses gets boring.

Use the drumsynth in FL studio and get tweaking!

There isn't anything cheap in the music industry. Sound cards start at $800, a small MIDI interface is around $900, keyboard synthesizers are around $5000 and go upwards very quickly. Even a few cables to hook it up ends up costing $250.

Stupidly overpriced, but meh.

im not too sure about what programs you could use but if you want PM me for details as i have a mate that makes the music for a wannabe local rappers, good music not so bad rap, i think he has enough samples to fill up a few cds so you could post me a few blank cds and a few stamps and i could get him to fill em up for ya but yeah its just an idea oh and i think he makes a lot of the samples himself as he plays a few instruments
