Default 9800Pro Stock vmem is 2.69v instead of 2.9v, bad o/c!!

GeXCube 9800Pro, the most I can get from the memory is 369mhz, so I whipped out the multimeter and found that it is only at 2.69v instead of the normal 2.9v (measure points and stock voltages off macci's diagram).

Vmod the only solution, or is there something obvious?

Normal 2.9v? Where did you get that idea?

I've heard that on some cards, faster RAM is used but run at lower speeds and below stock voltage to reduce heat (and limmit people oerclocking).

There are at leasat two types of samsung 2.8ns ram modules that are found on a number of video cards. My gigabyte 9600 pro uses 2.8ns samsung ram rated at ~2.6 or 2.65 volts (can't remember exactly. There is also other samsung 2.8ns ram which is rated to run on 2.9 volts. Be careful if you volt mod, and find out which ram modules you have before you start pumping up the voltage.

Cheers
