Question Speakers

OK, well I was wondering if you guys knew of some good speakers for my PC??? I am sick of my crappy little pieces of crap! I am willing to spend up to $350 on a good set. So, any suggestions would be good!!!

Thanks

Logitech aren't too bad.

Altec Lansig are good stuff.

Boston speakers are pretty good as well.

Creative have some good speakers, but I don't like Creative (ahh the fickleness of consumerism).

I can't think of any others at the moment. I think you are best to go and try some for yourself. Take a walkman or diskman and see if you can play something on the speakers - that way you'll find out if you like them.

ay...theres nothing wrong with creative

but before we can recommend anything, it'd be a good idea if you good give us some more info... like, how many speakers do you want? 2.1, 4.1 or 5.1? what will you mainly be using them for? gaming, mp3s, DVD? and what sound card do you have?

depending on your answer....i'd probably recommend the Creative DTT2500D or Altec Lansing ACS56..or maybe even something different

alright... you might like to check out these sets of speakers
Altec Lansing ATP5 Gaming Speakers (4.1)
Altec Lansing ACS56 Speakers (4.1)
Cambridge FourPointSurround FPS2000 (4.1)
Cambridge Desktop Theatre DTT2500 Digital (5.1)

all of them are about $250, except for the FPS2000 which is around $350...

I'm going to recommend the DTT2500D... its excellent value and comes with a Dolby decoder card, speaker stands and its 5.1 unlike the others. Even though you may not need the Dolby Digital support, it could be useful in the future. They are a great set of speakers nonetheless. I was surprised when i saw them so cheap at secretnet. Normally these speakers sell for $600-700 but secretnet are selling them for $239!

All the speakers I listed at the top will give you excellent sound quality for MP3s and gaming.. but if you want to check out some reviews, go to www.neoseeker.com or www.pcmarket.com.au

Argh Pc Speakers Argh!!!
They drive me nuts and as such i would thorougly reommend buyin like a real set of speakers and puttin them with an amp.
The active speakers sold in those pre pacakged boxes always sound so tinny to my ear.
And then with the subwoofer you get lots of tin lots of overpowering bass and no mid range. But chances are youll want to go with the pre packaged lot for simplicity. And theyre probly not as bad as i make out, and as such Funkdafied's choices arent too shabby.

stay away from creative...sorry they just dont do it for me..even their top of the line model.

yamaha make awsome speakers, some are even USB (no soundcard needed and more pure sound). and their power triples the output of ne logitech/creative ones.

and remember if ur going to get speakers with a sub, DONT GET A PASSIVE SUB!!! they have no guts and are just plain shit
