Default What order to install drivers etc after format

Okay.

After reformatting...I'm gonig to have a win2k partition and a win98se partition.

Hows this sound?

Install win98 on D:
then install 4-in-1's....which version is best?
Install Video Drivers...Its a tnt...so no more dets? install latest from manufcat.?
Install sound drivers
Install directx..7 or 8?
Network card..think thats about it really. Printer..scanner all that crap.

Some people say the video should be first, then directx, some say the other way around..what do you think. some people say it makes no difference, some say it makes a 30fps difference.

Its a KT7, Duron 650, Diamond TNT, Creative vibra 128.

I'll then install win2k on C...following the same procedure as for 98..

Hows that sound. Any suggestions?

I havnt done this for a long time..as I hate reformatting..

Edit..now i think about it, I might install win2k first on C..and then win98 on D...and it will automatically detect win98 on D i am pretty sure and add it to the boot menu.

Cheers,

Morgan

my recommendation is:

1) via 4-in-1's (get the latest from http://www.viahardware.com )

2) direct x 8 ( http://www.microsoft.com/directx/ )

3) video drivers (12.90's from http://www.the-ctrl-alt-del.com/Drivers.htm )

4) everything else

there's no real hard and fast rule, but for safety's sake the above should pretty much guarantee eveything will be in the right place.

Dont the 12.90's have the TNT support cut out of them?

What would you recommend, the Diamond drivers or the det's?

Cheers,

Morgan
